Smyrna continues to be on multiple “best places to live” lists and this should drive our value for and continued focus on responsible development. I’ll work to bring desirable developments to Smyrna that we as residents can be proud of. I believe Smyrna needs more parks and green space so we aren’t choked with traffic and concrete. We need to focus on the long term impacts of the choices we are making and make sure all decisions add value to our city. Over the next few years there will be some important re-zoning changes for Ward 1 and I’ll be sure those decisions reflect our interests, not just the developers.
I care about Smyrna and want it to be the best it can be. Click through to read more on why I think it matters that we as city constituents stay informed and involved.
I'll fight for pedestrian safety along, particularly in high traffic areas like Campbell Road. As a resident of Argyle Estates, I know firsthand how dangerous Campbell Road can be and believe it is time safety measures are implemented. I want our children to feel safe crossing to and from school at Campbell Middle and for parents to be confident knowing their children are protected.
I'll make sure the first responders have the resources and support they need to keep us safe and secure and keep crime low.
Traffic is an unavoidable and growing issue for Smyrna that will continue to exist. However, I believe it is possible to make wise decisions about what developments will be approved, by examining how they will contribute to traffic. It is one of my priorities to look at ways to alleviate traffic and use technologies to improve traffic management throughout Smyrna.
I will work with Cobb County School Board to continue improving Smyrna schools and advocate for better education for all Smyrna residents.
TAXES AND CITY SERVICES
I’ll continue to keep a balanced budget with low taxes while ensuring a high level of city services for all residents.
Thank you for choosing this campaign. I am looking forward to furthering Ward 1 and Smyrna for the future.
