I am local to Atlanta, growing up in Alpharetta and have called Smyrna home for the past 4 years; the last 2 years as a Smyrna Ward 1 homeowner.
I completed my undergrad at Kennesaw State University majoring in Political Science and Chemistry. After undergrad, I started my journey in the nonprofit sector joining an organization that partnered with local communities in need world-wide. After traveling and leading teams all over the world, I moved from active field work to the business side of one of the largest nonprofits in the country, focusing on grant distribution. Currently, I work at a local nonprofit that specializes in disaster relief and international development.
My wife, Emily-Cathryn, and I have been married for 2 years and chose Smyrna as our city because of its location and mix of city-suburb feel. We initially planned to be in our home for only a few years before moving on, but it only took a few short months for us to decide that our neighborhood (Argyle Estates) in Ward 1 is near perfect. We attribute so much of this to the neighbors we are surrounded by and the community of Smyrna as a whole.
As we have become invested in our community here in Smyrna, I have found it important to stay aware of development plans, attend city hall meetings, and have conversations with our city officials to raise concern of our local issues. This has led me to where I am today in the election for Ward 1 City Councilman.
Thank you for choosing this campaign. I am looking forward to furthering Ward 1 and Smyrna for the future.
